Our client is a small, family owned business that is well established and enjoys the patronage of a long list of well known clients. They manufacture (here and in China) straightforward portable hauling / carrying equipment and supply to a large list of loyal clients that are in need of ongoing contact and on-selling. On offer is a fabulous opportunity for a self-sufficient account manager / sales consultant to hit the ground running and provide top quality end-to-end service for existing customers. The role primarily involves relationship management and on-selling to a large existing client base.
Ideally, you will be an account manager with some sort of technical background (or who can easily grasp simple technical drawings). You will be computer savvy, as part of the role is to develop costings and quotes for customers using the company’s software. You will also have the ability to do basic drawings of simple carrying devices, take measurements and communicate this information to the workshop.
Please note that the vast majority of your work will be working with existing clients and up selling to them. However, on occasion you will be required to visit prospects with a view to gaining new business.
As you will be liaising with many Hospitality (including 5 Star hotels) and Industrial clients, you will be well presented and have an interpersonal style that will accommodate interaction with clients in all industries.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
- Account managing / relationship management of existing clients including on-selling
- Formulating Technical Sales solutions for existing customers
- Face to face sales calls
- Approximately two days per week in the office and three days “on the road”
- Developing costings and quotes for customer solutions
- Doing basic drawings and taking simple measurements and communicating these to the workshop or as required
- Ad hoc office duties as required
- Some cold-calling as required
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Minimum two / three years technical account management / relationship management / sales background
- sound technical experience will be viewed favourably
- Fantastic communication and people skills
- Good understanding of Materials Handling Equipment
- Intermediate Word / Excel / Email skills
- Flexibility to work varying hours in line with client needs
- Need to have your own car and current driver’s license
