This Not For Profit organization is dedicated to assisting employers in the accommodation sector nationally. As the lead representative body for the industry they provide multiple Workplace Relations services to a portfolio of over 2000 members. Their membership base ranges from hotels, motels, caravan parks and independent operators.
Their team of dedicated Workplace Relations Advisors are called upon to support and advise the association, members, government, NGO’s and stakeholders on all areas of Workplace Relations including Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Training and Development, Awards and dispute resolution.
The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in providing workplace relations services primarily focusing on:
- Interpreting of State & Federal Awards, Acts & Regulations, and providing accurate information and advice to employers
- Representing the association and its members to industry stakeholders and other forums
- Conducting research of awards, orders, decisions and interpretations of Industrial Commissions with regard to providing advice on complex enquiries;
- Providing advice to members on contracts of employment, unfair dismissal laws, terminations, employee counseling, minimum legislated standards and other employment related matters
- Compliance auditing and preparation of documentation on members' behalf.
- Informing members of any changes to the workplace relations landscape
The ideal candidate will be a progressive and highly motivated individual, who will provide professional advice, support, guidance and service in a range of strategic and operational HR and IR initiatives. Your interpersonal skills will be exceptional, and you will have the ability to build strong working relationships.
Selection Criteria:
- Related Tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding and proven ability to research and interpret legislation, awards and agreements
- Ability to provide advice on subjects including industrial relations, HR practices, OH&S
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work without supervision to ensure that deadlines are met
- MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) knowledge and experience using CRM software
