Our client is a leading Australian and international consultancy in Furniture,Fittings & Equipment (FF&E) Management. The company’s expertise provides professional management in the cost planning, specification documentation, procurement and logistics of projects FF&E requirements. Their primary function is to accurately categories the FF&E for all areas of a project into functional and logical packages and to summarise this data within a concise budget schedule.

First and foremost we are looking for a person who has a solid understanding of the health industry from a purchasing / procurement perspective. You will have a sound understanding of non technical furniture and equipment that is required to furnish a large health care facility including hospitals, aged care centres etc. In a nutshell, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that a particular health facility will have all its equipment/apparatus installed on time and on budget. You will be responsible for one off capital procurement.

Your work will involve interacting with suppliers, project stakeholders, managing contractors, architects, clients and governmental entities to ensure that all phases of a project is on-time and on-budget. Further to this it involves day to day administering of data tables for each and every item and

trade package incorporated into a project.

Reporting directly to the project manager your primary functions will include:

  • Producing the Furniture, Fittings & Equipment (FF&E) master list and project budget
  • Producing the design solution within the agreed FF&E master list and project budget in conjunction with the consultant team and the Principal.
  • Maintaining the design process within the project program
  • Designing in consideration of lifecycle and recurrent costs
  • Providing technical and/or performance based specifications for the nominated FF&E
  • items.
  • Managing the tender and award process.
  • Liaison and co-ordination with consultant team.
  • Consultation with the Principal and Client representatives as required.
  • Liaison and co-ordination with the Managing Contractor.
  • Inspection and approval of prototypes and samples.
  • Coordinating the FF&E installation program.
  • Audit of installed FF&E
  • Processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices, back orders and retentions.
  • Asset Management data delivery.

To be considered for this role you will have the:

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and products specific to the health industry
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing public purchasing
  • Knowledge of writing specifications, effectively tabulating informal and formal bids and perform purchasing functions in relation to the project
  • Ability to make work decisions based on interpretations of processes.
  • Ability to research products and determine their availability to the client, as well as the ability to analyze the contract and determine how to use it to meet client needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed procurement records and files
  • Ability to express ideas effectively, orally, and in writing.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to meet and deal effectively with clients, suppliers, managing contractors and
  • in-house staff.
  • Ability to prepare specifications, evaluate tenders and process orders
