Business Development Manager (Wholesale)

Our client is aspecialist provider of toll-free, fixed line, mobile and broadband solutions to small and medium businesses. They currently employ over 120 staff throughout Australia & New Zealand. They are in a growth phase, with several internal opportunities available for good performers to develop and progress their career.
They wish to appoint a Business Development Manager for their Wholesale division. This position has a strong focus on the development of new wholesale business (selling to telecommunications service providers and resellers). You will be selling toll free (13/1300/1800/0800/ITFS) services. The successful candidate must have existing experience in the Telecommunications market and know the relevant players. It is a face-to-face role, with relevant marketing or business qualifications preferred.
This person is a key member of the team responsible for delivering the strategic objectives of the business. This includes the building of the relationship with existing accounts and the establishment of new wholesale accounts, and covers the widening of the range of contacts within assigned accounts and the generation and development of new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maximising revenue from wholesale clients, both new and existing, to achieve agreed revenue targets
- Developing new business relationships
- Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation, credentials pitch, asking questions, solutions pitch, negotiation, close, handover to the account management team
To be successful for this role you must:
- Have sound business acumen
- A sales background in the Telco industry
- Have excellent presentation and communications skills (including written, oral, email, telephone)
- Have the ability and confidence to present a tailored presentation to potential clients
- Be a confident negotiator, with the ability to ‘close the deal’
- Have demonstrated successful experience in new business development initiatives and activities
