Based in the southern suburbs of Sydney, with local and international clients, our client specialises in designing and developing websites. We’re currently looking for a full time experienced Web Developer. You will be creative and confident, passionate about the web, have strong html and CSS skills, and love a challenge. As a growing business, we need someone who knows their stuff and wants to be instrumental in the continued growth and success of the business.
This role represents a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic website developer who is keen to work for a small company and therefore get involved in all facets of the business! This is not just programming role. Working closely with the owner you will be dealing with clients and helping them by giving them appropriate advice. As the business grows it is envisaged that this role will graduate to a team leader position.
Responsibilities include:
- Slicing/cutting-up designs and implementing on the BC platform.
- Customising and configuring BC modules.
- Maintaining existing websites (updates, content publishing etc).
- Liaising with clients.
- Attending meetings with the Project Manager to scope projects (when required).
- Answering Help Desk enquiries.
- Domain management.
- Researching and keeping abreast of new technologies.
- Integrating third party applications/tools with BC sites.
- Managing internal social media networks.
- Implementing social media pages and plug-ins for clients.
- Managing email marketing campaigns for clients.
- Attending industry-related seminars/events.
- Writing technical documentation.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- A minimum of three years experience developing commercial websites
- A firm grasp of W3C (X)HTML / CSS standards and a passion for quality and standards.
- Good commercial experience developing/implementing sites on the Adobe Business Catalyst platform or Joomla or WordPress
- Experience in employing JavaScript frameworks to deliver added functionality and enhancements.
- Must have a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline.
- Design cut-up experience and an eye for detail.
- A good understanding of online business marketing.
- A good understanding of browser compatibility issues.
- Enjoy working on numerous concurrent projects autonomously and as part of a small team.
