Administrator Our client is an Australian owned and managed company with a strong presence both here and in Asia. They are highly regarded in the field of large clear span construction solutions including bulk storage buildings, aircraft hangers and sporting facilities. They are currently experiencing significant growth and are looking for a capable and enthusiastic I.T Administrator to join the team and grow with the company. This is a fantastic opportunity for an I.T. Administrator who is keen to be working across multiple technical areas and projects and wants to take his/her career to the next level. This is not your run of the mill IT Administrator role. As well as managing the daily I.T. functions you will also be working on cutting edge projects designed to improve the operational efficiency of the organisation. Reporting directly to the office manager you will be working with a great team of people and playing an important role in the development of the business. Your duties will include: - Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels
- Work with international users and ensure that I.T. systems are optimized
- Manage multiple IT projects going forward including examining best telephony options (such as VOIP), online web based meeting systems and researching new applications
- Liaise with, and provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
- Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
- Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.
- Construct, install, and test customised configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
- Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
- Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
- Work in a team to ensure that changes are introduced for better operations of the systems
- Manage and implement IT budgets
- Keep up to date drawing registers
- Manage the document control system
To be considered for this role you will have: - At least five years experience in a similar role
- Experience in managing day-to-day I.T administration for an organisation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated in-depth experience with Microsoft Windows Server/XP/Exchange 2007/8
- Networking skills – routers, switches, VPN, WAN, LAN, firewalls
- Work as a positive member of a team
- Ability to work independently and to initiate activities as appropriate, in line with the job description
- Certifications in Microsoft and network products desirable.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation
- TAFE diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience will be highly regarded.
Whilst not essential experience with Candy/Buildsmart applications will be viewed favourably. | | |
