Due to the impending retirement of a very long standing employee, they are now seeking a reliable, dedicated individual, who has an excellent work ethic and a good level of safety awareness, who will be mentored and trained in production duties.  Experience isn’t essential, so if you are mechanically minded or have experience operating machinery, this could be a great opportunity.   • Setting up and operation of machinery on the production line
  • Prepare products to meet orders ensuring quality and adhering to time specifications

About the Role

A new permanent full-time opportunity for a production operator manufacturing metal roofing for carports using a roll forming machine.  
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Feed metal sheets
  • Perform machine maintenance, equipment process checks during and after production
  • Work autonomously with strong safety awareness and un-supervised 
  • Manage stock and material usage

To be successful for this role you must have the following:

  • Experience with using roll forming machine 
  • Current Driver’s license and reliable transport
  • Capable of fast-paced, physical work
  • Capable of reading and following simple written/verbal instructions and diagrams.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Willing to undergo pre-employment checks including criminal and drug testing

About the Role:
A new and exciting opportunity to demonstrate your effective communication and organisational skills in the manufacturing, packaging, and preparation of customisable shop fittings for delivery. This role will see you operating and supporting all stages of production while following health and safety guidelines.  Working collaboratively within the small team your focus will be to support the smooth day-to-day running of the production line with accuracy and work towards improving productivity for the growth of the business.

  • Operating CNC and Edge Banding machines
  • Using drilling machines and cut off saws for accurate and timely production of modular timber components
  • Diligent production, cleaning, stacking, and packaging of products
  • Tracking and updating job progress through an in-house system
  • Assembling components to build shop counters and other modular shop fittings
  • Maintaining and promoting a clean and efficient working environment and following health and safety standards

Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years of experience preferred in tradesmen assisting, manufacturing, or production work
  • Forklift license preferred
  • Experience in doing repetitive or manufacturing tasks with speed and accuracy
  • Understanding of processes in line with required timeframes
  • Competent in hand-tool use and practically minded
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills, reliable and respectful
