About the Role:
This Pipe Fitting role would suit a Fitter looking to move into the refrigeration industry. You will be responsible for the bending and fitting of small-bore steel/stainless steel tubing for compressor packages designed for large refrigeration plants. Your days will include pressure testing of vessels, packages and alignment of compressors and motors as well as liaising with the engineering department regarding changes and improvements to compressor packages. 
The right person will receive training and support geared toward progressing into a manager’s position. Refrigeration technicians encouraged to apply.

  • Bending and fitting of small-bore steel/stainless steel tubing
  • Fitting of coupling hubs to compressors and motors
  • Preliminary alignment of compressors and electric motors on compressor skid
  • Enable pneumatic and pressure testing of vessels and packages
  • Liaise with engineering department regarding changes and improvements to compressor packages
  • Compile list of tube and other fittings for ordering via engineering
  • Assist in other general workshop duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Fitting or pipe fitting with some knowledge and or background in steel tubing
  • Cert III in fitting – highly regarded
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings – a plus
  • Basic understanding of lathe use
  • Good work ethics – Motivated to learn new things
  • Plans, organises and problem solves
  • Confident using 12.5TR overhead crane
  • Fork Lift licence and white card – preferred
  • Current driver’s licence and own vehicle – No public transport options to work place
