About the Role:
Our client is a highly successful business, who has their Head Office in central Brisbane and currently operates State of the Art facilities across 30 sites throughout QLD, NSW, VIC and WA.  They are poised to double their operations over the next two to three years, through expansion, acquisition and third party providers.
As part of this growth, they are now seeking an experienced “hands on” Financial Accountant to join their team.  It is envisaged this person will have a high level of business acumen, an inquisitive mind, with a thirst for learning and developing their skill set.  You will need to be an “Accounting Allrounder” who is looking to be in a busy challenging role that offers variety and career growth opportunities.   Reporting to the CFO, this role see you being a part of a team of 5, where you will be responsible for Trust Accounting, Year End and Month End reporting, P&L and Balance Sheet reporting and liaising with external Accountants.  It is paramount that you have an exceptional work ethic, along with a commitment to building a culture around integrity, respect and teamwork.

  • Manage the financial and trust accounting functions for the site
  • Responsible for month end and year end reporting
  • Preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
  • Review and analyse monthly management account variances against budget
  • Prepare and lodge Activity Statements within ATO
  • Maintain the fixed asset register for accounting and taxation
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, as required  

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Positive “can-do” work ethic
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications essential
  • Commercial Business Accounting experience
  • A team player, who also has the ability to work autonomously
  • Superior attention to detail skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Prior experience working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • You will require a vehicle as the role is not located close to public transport
