About the Role
Our client is a specialist Commercial catering equipment distributor who represents European industrial commercial cooking equipment to the foodservice industry throughout Australia.

Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Service Technician for this office and practical field-based role.  This is a pivotal role in the business ensuring customer satisfaction with initial installation and ongoing repairs, maintenance, and parts for all their products Australia wide.  You will be mentored and trained to become an expert in their product base and your valuable knowledge and skillset will be highly sort after in the industry.

  • Work on a mix of heavy and light industrial equipment
  • Combination of “on the road” local servicing, along with managing and advising Technicians throughout Australia

  • Provide Technical support to internal and external stakeholders Australia wide
  • Create documentation including procedure instructions and referencing industry standards for the repair, installation, and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment
  • Communicate with international factories to resolve technical concerns
  • Diagnose issues with electrical catering equipment (Refrigeration Cabinets, Heating Cabinets, Steam Jacketed Kettles, Warewashing equipment)
  • Attend customer sites in the Sydney region for installation and in-situ repairs and modifications
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis; suggest and implement solutions
  • Carry out technical training with internal staff
  • Manage the spare parts inventory, sourcing, and shipping on demand

Skills and Experience:

  • Technical knowledge, certification, or background in electro-mechanical engineering
  • Refrigeration and Handling and/or Electrical Licence
  • Experience working with industrial inverters, electrical motors, gear boxes, hydraulics on commercial catering equipment highly desirable
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to read electrical and gas schematic diagrams and fault find using manuals over the phone
  • High level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management and organisational skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry
  • Good organisational skills
  • Enthusiastic personality with a high drive to ensure quality customer service & satisfaction
