About the Role:               
Our Client is seeking a highly experienced, professional Warehouse Manager, to join their National Head Office and be responsible for the overall management of the Warehouse and Freight area, for local, national and international deliveries.  The successful applicant will need to take a great deal of pride in their work, have the ability to lead and mentor others and be able to work in a fast paced environment.   We are looking for someone to join the organisation for the long-term and strong prospects exist for advancement for the right person.

Duties:

  • Effectively manage the stores and warehouse to ensure stock and equipment is maintained and stored appropriately
  • Management of stock deliveries, picking and packing of orders and daily mail
  • Supervision, motivation and development of the Stores Team
  • Use of warehouse computer systems (training to be provided)
  • Management of workload allocations and priorities
  • Ensure deliveries of time critical parts are made to customers in full and on time
  • Complete cycle counts and rolling stock takes
  • Assist to source and order inventory from local, national and international suppliers as needed
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained within the warehouse

Skills and Experience:
We are seeking someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role and who takes pride in running a warehouse that directly contributes to the overall success of the business.  A knowledge of heavy equipment or someone who has a strong mechanical knowledge or a combination of these skills, will be an advantage but not essential. 

  • Demonstrated experience supervising a team
  • Warehouse and Inventory management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High attention to detail and experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good understanding of OH & S principles
  • Cert 3 or 4 in warehousing will be viewed favourably
  • Forklift licence or the ability to obtain a licence
  • Drivers Licence essential
